Clare Wright is an Independent Examiner of Neighbourhood Plans and has been involved with creating and examining neighbourhood plans across the country from their early inception. She was Examiner of the country’s first successful Neighbourhood Plan with Community Right to Build Orders, for Arun District Council and Ferring Parish Council. Independent examiners are engaged under the legislative criteria set out in paragraph 7 of Schedule 4B to the 1990 Act (as applied by section 38A of the 2004 Act) and Clare Wright, as an Independent Examiner, is ‘independent of the qualifying body and the authority, (b) does not have an interest in any land that may be affected by the draft order/plan, and (c) has appropriate qualifications and experience.’
